Private Game Ranch for Thanksgiving

More pictures from our wonderful Thanksgiving long weekend in Limpopo with Grammy, our kids' grandmother visiting from Brooklyn. See also our previous post, Struck by Lightening in Limpopo

This bull was standing his ground as we approached. Our quads were not intimidating despite what we thought was a rather loud motor. Those curved horns are so cool!
León drove that by himself. His thumb tired eventually as that served as the accelerator. He's a knack for steering. Despite the noise of the motor, you can actually get closer to the animals than from a game drive truck, which seems more quiet but scares the animals more.

Our own private pool

The view from our room. We could see game herds passing by to the different water holes of the ranch.

Steven, below left, tracks a pair of brown hyena. This was on our game drive trying to find the elusive leopard.

The Wildebeast bulls would make a psuedo-charge at our quads... while not so scary as they would only advance a few meters, it was nice to be recognised as an invader on their turf! All the bulls, the Eland, the Kudu, were big and majestic.
