Auntie Lisa came for dinner
Like some of you might know Auntie Lisa is one of our favorite Aunties and she loves us so much. She gave us beautiful necklaces for Lunar New Year which included little spinning pendants of our Chinese horoscopes, a Pig for me and an Ox for Luna. They are so cool and the more they spin the more good luck we get! We're gonna keep them forever.
Then at dinner, we displayed very quirky manners at the table. You can see Luna licking her plate, (after all, it was Roshani's famous Lasagna). There was me serving the salad standing on my chair; notice all the salad on the table! I guess I must've had an over 50% success rate; not bad for a first try at salad distribution. Yes, that's chocolate ice cream all over my face. Auntie Lisa wasn't too shocked however, she's a very patient Auntie.
So then we tried our hand at entertaining her at the piano, improvising to say the least! And Luna painted some of her famous watercolors, she's right in the middle of a serious Pollock phase, for Auntie Lisa to put up in her apartment in Beijing, talk about an investment for the future! Also I, as always the generous and attentive host, offered auntie Lisa numerous servings of cheese, membrillo, and chorizo from Spain and I made sure she had enough to eat so it turned out to be quite the 'xiao' feast. The most important thing is that she realized how much we love her and our Chinese grandparents. On our side we are super fortunate to also spend the day with auntie Isa from Spain and auntie Roshani. Mami baked a cake and we put candles since the 8th of February is the birthday of our Abuela and we skyped her and abuelo and sang Happy Birthday to her in Chinese and Spanish. We blew out the candles for her and it turned out to be a nice evening to remember.!
Our grandparents in their Beijing apartment. They love us so much and we are very lucky to have them in our lives.
